Is Disk Space Manager free?
No. It is a one-time purchase on the Microsoft Store: US $14.99 for Disk Space Manager and US $5.99 for Disk Space Manager LITE, prices vary by country. There is no subscription and nothing to pay later. Both editions have a 15-day trial, so you can try it on your own drives before you buy.
Which versions of Windows does it run on?
Windows 10 version 1809 or later, and Windows 11, on 64-bit (x64) PCs. It is installed and updated through the Microsoft Store like any other Store app. It does not run on macOS or Linux.
What is the difference between Disk Space Manager and Disk Space Manager LITE?
Both have the same ultra fast scanner, the Advanced Scan filters, saved scans and the four reports with CSV export. Only Disk Space Manager keeps a Scan History of your recent scans of a drive and compares any two of them: what grew, what shrank, what is new and what was deleted, folder by folder and file by file. They are separate apps on the Store; one does not upgrade into the other.
How is it different from WinDirStat, TreeSize or WizTree?
Those tools show you where the space is right now, usually as a tree or a treemap of the biggest folders. Disk Space Manager shows where the space is now too, and in addition keeps your recent scans and tells you what changed since the last one, which is usually the real question when a drive fills up. It has no treemap graphic: a scan is a tree with sizes, shares and changes, plus the four reports. It is a paid app with a 15-day trial.
Does it send any data anywhere?
No. The app never connects to the internet: not for updates, not for a licence check, not for telemetry. Updates come through the Microsoft Store. A problem report or a suggestion is composed in your own e-mail program and is sent only when you press Send there.
What does a scan read?
The folders and files you chose to scan: their names, sizes, dates and attributes. It does not read the contents of files. Everything a scan gathers stays on your PC, in the app's own data folder, and can be deleted from the app's settings.
Can it scan external drives and network drives?
Yes. A scan covers a whole drive or the folders you pick: internal drives, external disks, USB sticks, and mapped network drives that answer when the app lists them.
How many scans does it keep?
Disk Space Manager keeps the most recent scans of each drive or folder set: five by default, up to fifty if you choose. Older scan data is removed automatically, so the history itself never takes much space.
Can I delete files from the scan?
Yes. From a row in the scan tree you can open its folder in File Explorer, or delete the file or folder right there.
Can I buy it for a company or for several PCs?
A Microsoft Store purchase installs on the Windows PCs you sign in to with the same Microsoft account. For a team, a department or a company, write to support@diskspacemanager.app with the number of PCs, and you get a quote, an invoice, and a way to install it that suits you.
Which languages does it come in?
English. More languages are being prepared for early 2027.
Who makes it?
Prima Software Ltd, a one-developer company in the United Kingdom. Disk Space Manager has been on the Microsoft Store since 2018 and was rebuilt in 2026 on current technology. One developer reads every message to support@diskspacemanager.app and answers, usually within a day.
